  • India is the 3rd most powerful country in the world.
  • India is the fastest growing economy in the world.
  • India is not affected by recession as other countries are.
  • India has the highest number of engligh speaking people.
  • India will become the largest number of mobile phone users and internet very soon.
  • India is the toast of the town in today’s world.

But we also have an India where some people are corrupt, where some people can do anything for money, where some people do not care about the pride of their nation, where some corrupt politicians are in somekey decision making positions, where some people bring shame to the nation by hosting a sporting event with facilities which can make any official look for shelter to hide his face.

Common Wealth Games have literally become Common Wealth Waste, this is a criminal wastage of hard earned money of we Indians which is being floundered by our politicians. The amount of money actually taken from our pockets and the amount of money being actually spent is quite different. You can know this by the kind of arrangement being done for the atheletes.

Starting from dirty toilets, to dirty beds, to dirty food to everything which can be bad is being currently published by all the foreign media to tarnish the image of we Indians and who is to be blamed for all this. The politicians, the ministers who actually are controlling this event and telling everyone that they are hosting a world call event in this country.

Do we need such wastage of our resources, can the common man do nothing about this gross wastage and the shame which this sporting event is bringing to we Indians.Should we not take this with the government?

Seed Funding is something which most of the sought after VC‘s shy off as they do not want to invest in a concept which is made up of only ideas with no real proof.

The VC community basically looks for ideas which have been implemented or pilot tested for a while and they see a definite growth in the area the start up is working and potential of the team to grow big. They also look out for an exit route after a certain number of years.

These big time VC’s usually are not interested in early stage start ups as they do not want to risk their captial in such raw ideas.

This potential is tapped in countries like US, UK, China by small VC companies. The same trend is now getting replicated in India with the advent of small VC firms.

One such frim called “Grow VC” (www.growvc.com) is using the “crowd sourcing” platform to attract potential investors. They can invest upto a USD 1 Mn into an early stage start up company. They not only provide funding services but also provide tools for starts ups to connect and also for the investors to connect.

Another company operating in the seed funding area is i2 india(www.i2indiaventures.com), they invest in technology start ups and work with some of the leading educational institutes.

India needs more of such companies to fund early stage start ups so that brilliant ideas do not die because of lack of funding available.Ahem !

Mutual Fund Basics: How Mutual Funds Work

Mutual fund is an investment scheme that is professionally managed by an investment company. Prime object of mutual fund scheme is to pool money from separate individuals and invest it in bonds, stocks and short term market instruments. Further investment of mutual funds in various securities and short term money markets are made with the sole motive of multiplying the invested money. The pooled money is traded under the supervision of a fund manager. Net gains and losses are, then, distributed among the investors annually.

Mutual Fund Basics: Compare Mutual Funds Performance

General belief is that mutual funds and individual stocks are similar. However, facts do not comply with this belief. Both are different. The value of individual stocks fluctuates with the passing of a minute. On the other hand, prices of mutual funds are determined at the end of the day. These prices are largely based on the value of the securities in portfolio.

Compare mutual funds performance

Numerous mutual fund companies operate simultaneously. Most often, their performances are exaggerated through ads in newspapers. So, evaluating the performances of different mutual funds is one of the most daunting and complex tasks. Advertisements of mutual fund companies usually mention about ‘five star funds’ and ‘the number one fund.’ These ads also describe previous performances of the concerned mutual funds. So, these ads cannot be the yard stick for measuring the performances of different mutual funds.

In this respect, experts suggest that the best way of comparison is to go through the returns of the concerned mutual funds during the past ten years, five years and three years. This exercise is supposed to be more useful as far as comparison among the performances of mutual funds is concerned.

Compare 2 mutual funds

There is no denying the fact that returns play significant role in determining the performances of a mutual fund company. Therefore, a close look at the returns of the concerned mutual funds can help one in carrying out a comparison among them.

Mutual fund NAV

NAV is the abbreviation of net asset value. It symbolizes share market value of a mutual fund. Investors put forward their bids or buy fund shares on the basis of the value determined by mutual fund NAV. It is helpful to both buying fund shares from a mutual fund company and selling them to a mutual fund company.

The method of deriving NAV is interesting. The entire value of all the securities and cash pooled in a mutual fund’s portfolio is divided by the outstanding shares. Liabilities are not included in the total. NAV computation takes place towards the closure of every trading day.

CAT  First Online Test

CAT, which is hailed as the toughest MBA exam in the world, failed in its ACT, CAT First Online Test 2009 to provide its students with an ONLINE experience. In many centers across India, it was reported that servers either slowed down or there were temporary glitches reported while students were taking their online test.

Preparing for CAT itself is one of the most challenging tasks of your life as you need to SLEEP with the CAT, EAT with the CAT, and PLAY with the CAT to get SUCCESS in the CAT.

For every student CAT is an exam which is there to be taken whether you have that potential or not, it is like every male in India aspires to have Six Pack Abs like Salman or Shahrukh but does not know that for getting it one requires extreme devotion and constant practice.

CAT in itself is a challenge because of the surprises it throws every year to a student in terms of change in format or changes in the time or changes in the difficulty level and to add to that this year a student has to deal with additional challenge of being used to glitches and breaks while taking the test due to either software or hardware issues.

These glitches might be BOON for some and might be DOOM for some as this can result in breaking the concentration  level  of a student or might just prepare a student and give him those extra minutes to change his destiny forever.

The final result this year will be a mixed bag as some student who might have prepared heavily for the exams but are not used to any break in concentration levels might end up being the LOSER and those with higher capacity to handle stress but with less preparation might end up being the WINNER in the end.

Thus, CAT is now not only a test of how good you are at solving a Mathematical puzzle or solving a complex Data Interpretation problem or going as fast as you can through a Reading Comprehension passage but it is now also a test of your nerves, how much stress you can take and still deliver your best, while you wait your computer to BOOT up again and get ready to RESTART your test where you left off!!!
