Some of the other highlights of the DTC bill are as follows
- Exemptions for senior citizens to be increased to INR 2.5 lacs
- STT to be continue as it is
- VRS, Gratuity now exempt subject to conditions
- MAT to be increased to 20%
- SEZ’s to get deductions from profit if they are set up before 2014
- Tax Audit Limits Enhanced for income on profession, INR 25 lacs, For Business Income INR 1 Cr
